Zimbowties is a sustainable fashion movement founded by Kim White, creating one-of-a-kind bowties handmade from upcycled eco-fabric offcuts in Mutare, a small city in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe.
Through upcycling, they’ve saved over 21,000 gallons of water, pay local Zimbabwean artisans five times the minimum wage, and support young talent with creativity awards — all rooted in sustainability, creativity, and inspiration.
In October 2018, students from the Watson Institute — a school in Boulder, Colorado — came together to support Zimbowties' mission and founder.
I had the pleasure of styling, directing, and photographing the shoot.
